Leaving on a Jet Plane!

I leave early tomorrow morning for photography boot camp FW4.

I’ve been waiting for almost a year for this – I’ll be hanging out with, learning from, and working with a group of AMAZING wedding photographers, some of whom I consider to be among the best in the world.

There should be high speed at the hotel I’ll be at so I hope to blog from there at least once or twice. I should be able to stay on top of email and such as well, so don’t hesitate to drop us a line. I’ve been setting up consultations for Saturday and Sunday next weekend for after I get back (25th/26th), if you’d like to get together to chat about your wedding plans and have a look at what we do, give me a shout!

Cheers!

Kira and Alex were married today, and all I can say is wow. Wow she looked amazing, wow I’ve never heard musicians quite as good as Alex’s friends, wow they had such gorgeous weather for their February wedding.

So, of course, when I sat down to pull out just a few highlights from the day, I just couldn’t decide where to stop. Everything was just so perfect!

So, without further ado, I bring you Kira and Alex. Congratulations again guys, I hope the honeymoon is fabulous!

Reilly in particular has been doing some fashion work lately and we wanted to share some of the other stuff we shoot when we’re not shooting weddings. This is just a sampling from a number of models we worked with over the weekend.

Going to Texas

Miranda Blue Olive Photography News Leave a Comment

I can’t believe it’s almost time!

Reilly and I spend a lot of time networking with other photographers and keeping on top of what is new and going on in the photography world so that we know we are offering as much as we can to our clients. I love learning from what everyone else is up to, and being inspired by all the amazing photographers out there! For us, it’s all about keeping things new and fresh and pushing ourselves to deliver above and beyond for each and every one of our amazing couples.

On that note, I’ve been signed up for the 2006 Foundation Workshop since last spring, and it’s almost here! Just 3 short weeks and I’m off to Texas to spend an intense week shooting and learning with a group of people whom I consider to be among the best documentary style wedding photographers in the world. I can’t wait!

I’ll be sure to post updates from my trip when I have them, and with a wedding booked the weekend after I get back I won’t waste any time putting some of that inspiration into action.

2006

It’s the new year already, and that means a rush of inquiries for remaining 2006 dates. Already this is shaping up to be another fabulous year!

So far we have a flury of multi day cultural weddings combined with intimate urban affairs and fabulous yacht club elegance to top everything off. I’m looking forward to shooting each and every one, and I can’t wait to share some of the highlights.

Congratulations again to all the engaged couples we’ve been meeting with. I’ve loved hearing about everyone’s plans!

If you’re still searching for just the right photographer for you, get in touch.

Cheers!

Hot Chocolate & Too Much Holiday Baking

Just a note to send everyone our warmest holiday wishes! Regardless of what and how you celebrate, hold your family and friends close and make sure to indulge just a little!

For us – we’ve been busy finishing up all those last minute holiday orders and meeting with new couples for next year’s wedding season. This weekend, we’re having a small gathering and I’ll be cooking up dinner including a goose! I normally do a turkey, but we’re just having a few people so goose seemed somehow appropriate. We’ll see what I think after I figure out how to actualy cook it 🙂

This next week we’re spending some time with family and friends as well as working on some new sample albums and other goodies for the studio.

Here’s to looking forward to an exciting 2006! Thanks to everyone who has been a part of our studio so far and for those who we will be working with this year, it’s going to be a great year!

Alison & Andrew

We spent this past weekend in Jasper in the beautiful – and snowy – Canadian Rockies. The weather didn’t allow for very many pictures outside, but I think we were able to capture the feel of Alison & Andrew’s “Jasper Park Lodge at Christmas” wedding perfectly!

This is just a quick sneak peak and these are two of my favourite images so far.

Jamie & Nathan

We’re just putting the finishing touches on some proofs and are so excited about the pictures that we had to give a sneak peak. Jamie & Nathan had the perfect October wedding. One thing I just love is when people integrate a theme – and these guys integrated the fall season into their wedding masterfully. Just look at those flowers! I’ve never seen anything quite like them, they really are just perfect.

Jamie was so beautiful in her dress handmade by her Grandmother, and Nathan was looking pretty fine himself. The weather didn’t even phase them as they bombed around in golf carts along with their bridal party.

As always, click each image to view it bigger. Enjoy!
